Assembly and glueing process...

Next it's time for assembling the flags. We lay out the stripes with grain patterns that give it the best look and glue them together. Each individual stripe and the union are glued together then placed in clamps to dry. As usual the hubby decided to streamline once again. This time after much research, he found a couple of ideas he liked and combined them together. His project squares up the flag on the left side and the bottom to form a perfect 90 degree angle. Then he routed slots to work with Match-Fit style clamps which enabled him to clamp down the top and right hand side of the flag, even if it's not at the end of the jig. Plus he can clamp 2 flags down at the same time. This prevents the flags from getting marks from the clamps and provides a nicer finished product.
